We assess software health for -

  • organisations making big decisions on code they can't see inside.
  • teams where technical debt has become a business risk.
  • companies where the platform is slowing down but nobody knows why.
  • leadership that needs an independent view before they invest further.
  • businesses where the developers and the roadmap no longer agree.

Big decisions ride on code you can't see

You're about to invest in a product, take over a codebase, or scale a system that has to hold. The decision is big and the timeline is short. From the outside the demo looks fine, but you can't tell whether the architecture, the code and the way it's built will carry the weight you're about to put on it.

Who is this for?

This is for investors running technical due diligence, CTOs and product owners weighing a rebuild, and founders whose product or platform is about to scale. The moment is the one just before a big call: an investment, a takeover, a major release, or a decision to keep building or start over. You need an independent, expert read before you commit budget and time.

Software Health Assessment

What you get

We assess a software product or platform across five areas: product quality, usage quality, the design process, the development process, and maintenance and management. Our architects read the code, review the architecture, and interview the people who built it. You get a written report with a score per area, a deep-dive per theme, and a session where we walk you through it together. We don't drop a report and disappear. We sit down with you and go through what it means and what to do first.

An independent second opinion

A neutral read of your software from people with no stake in how it was built.

A scored picture across five areas

Product quality, usage quality, design process, development process, and maintenance, each rated and explained.

The real problems, named

Where the risk sits, in plain language, with the technical detail to back it up.

Quick wins and priorities

The low-effort fixes worth doing now, and the bigger issues worth planning for.

A clear recommendation

A written advice and a working session, so you know whether to invest, take over, fix or rebuild.

What to expect

How we turn a software audit into a decision you can act on

Step 1

Scope

We start with a short kickoff to agree what we're assessing and why. We map the product, its sub-systems and the goal it serves for the end user. You give us access to the product, the data and the documentation.

Step 2

Gather

We collect the architecture, the code and the development documentation. We review what's there and note where the gaps are. This sets the baseline for everything that follows.

Step 3

Interview

We talk to the product owner and the development team. The product owner validates our starting points and names the pain. The developers fill in the detail the documents don't show.

Step 4

Assess

We score the product across the five areas and write a detailed analysis for each. We separate the real risks from the noise. Findings are concrete, not impressions.

Step 5

Report

We present the findings, the scores and the advice in a working session. You see the full report, the deep-dives and a clear summary. You leave knowing what to fix first and what it will take.

The team beside you

The team beside you

You work with a software architect and senior engineers who review code every day. They're European specialists who speak your language and understand your business. Where security is part of the question, a specialist from our European security practice Defenced joins the review. The same people who run the assessment present the findings to you.

Where it sits

In our Digital Acceleration Framework

The Software Health Assessment sits at the front of our Digital Acceleration Framework, under Digital Strategy. It's the diagnostic step. Before we talk about replacing, rebuilding or scaling anything, we find out what state the software is actually in. At Beyonder, strategy, build and automation, data, and security work as one system. This assessment tells you which of them to act on first.

Start with a short scoping conversation. We'll work out whether a Software Health Assessment fits your situation, or whether an IT Landscape Assessment is the better call.

What we cover in the call
• What you're deciding: invest, take over, fix or rebuild.
• Whether a product or a wider landscape is in scope.
• What access and input we'd need from your side.
• What the assessment costs and how long it takes.

What you leave with
• A clear view of whether the assessment fits your question.
• The right scope: a product, or the broader landscape.
• A clear view of the timeline and the investment.
• A straight answer on what to do next, even if it isn't us.

No pressure, and no obligation to go further. If a scan isn't the right move, we'll tell you.

The ten questions you're already asking

A software audit is a structured review of a product's architecture, code and the way it's built and maintained. We assess it across five areas and give you a scored, written picture of its strengths and its risks. It's the same thing we call a Software Health Assessment.

We review the codebase, the architecture and the development process, and we interview the team that built it. Bad code shows up as fragmentation, missing tests, inconsistent structure, and parts only one person understands. We rate what we find and explain why it matters.

Technical debt is the cost of shortcuts taken earlier that now slow you down. It shows up as slower releases, recurring bugs and rising maintenance effort. The assessment measures where it sits and what it would take to pay it down.

You get a prioritized list: quick wins to do now, and bigger items to plan for. We point to the changes in the design and development process that stop the same problems from coming back. You can act on it yourself, or we can help.

€7,500 excluding VAT for a product. That covers the scoping, the interviews, the full assessment across five areas, the written report and a session to walk through it.

About a month from kickoff to the final presentation. From your side, plan for around 6 hours of meetings and time to share the documentation and access we need.

Five areas: product quality, usage quality, the design process, the development process, and maintenance and management. Each gets a detailed analysis, a score and clear advice.

A product. It can have several sub-systems, apps or stores, as long as they serve one goal for the end user. For a wider landscape, an IT Landscape Assessment fits better.

Yes. An independent technical read before an investment or acquisition is one of the most common reasons clients ask for it. You get a neutral assessment before you sign.

Then you'll know before it costs you more. We name the risks plainly, separate urgent from manageable, and give you a clear path: fix, rebuild or walk away. The point of the scan is to make that call with facts.
