REWE Produkttest Plattform

On the REWE Product Testing Platform, consumers can test and review products from various manufacturers free of charge. By sharing their honest opinions, they help other customers in their purchasing decisions and make a valuable contribution to product improvement. For REWE’s industry partners and own-brand products, REWE product tests in turn provide valuable content for wide-reaching, multi-stage branding campaigns.

On behalf of REWE, Beyonder designed and implemented an enhanced new version of the existing product testing platform, with a view to making product testing even more appealing in future.

The version of the REWE product testing platform, which had been in existence for several years prior to the project, demonstrated that there is considerable interest in product testing among consumers and manufacturers.

Among other things, the relaunch was intended to facilitate greater user engagement, a more personalised presentation of the brands being tested, and a more precise selection of suitable testers. At the same time, the aim was to establish a stable technical foundation for the future expansion of features and reach.

During the concept sprint, the project team developed a modern user experience design and layout based on personas. During implementation, emphasis was placed on accessibility, Core Web Vitals and performance. The integration of a single sign-on with the REWE customer account makes the user experience quick and easy for REWE customers.

From a technical perspective, the project was implemented using a Django backend and a server-side rendered frontend built with NextJS. Before launch, load and penetration tests were carried out to ensure stable and secure operation.
