NHA has been a household name in home study for 90 years. More than 100,000 active students take a course there, from languages and crochet to personal effectiveness, and every year around 50,000 new enrolments are added. That calls for a reliable, fast and agile platform.

The old environment could no longer keep up with NHA's growth. The platform was rigid, held back innovations and forced the team into technical workarounds. NHA wanted to regain direction, speed and control. We helped them lay the foundation for an intelligent, future-proof learning environment that fits the ambitions of a modern educator.

We completely redesigned the digital learning environment from the ground up. The goal: an accessible, flexible and powerful platform that brings calm for the student and creates speed for NHA.

Calm in the learning material

The extensive learning content of more than 700 courses comes into its own better thanks to manageable content blocks. Subtle animations guide the student's eye, making information more pleasant to read and quicker to process.

A playful and motivating Word Trainer

The old language module was rigid: one accent typed wrong and it was marked incorrect. We built a dynamic version with gamification, smart dictation functions and settings that match personal preferences.

A trial lesson that immediately shows what you're studying for

Instead of a stripped-down test environment, the trial lesson now immediately conveys the feel of the entire course. Prospective students see the end goal they are working towards and experience the functionalities they will receive. That increases conversion from the very first contact.

Accessible, flexible and familiar

The platform is built according to the latest accessible-by-design guidelines (WCAG), aligns with the renewed corporate identity and has a modular setup.

Click straight through during alignment

With our SmartCode approach, we build working Proofs of Concept (POCs) in advance. During the refinements, the NHA team clicks straight through the prototype. That way you understand each other right away, gather targeted feedback and prevent rework.

Speed, direction and a solid foundation for the future

NHA now has a decoupled architecture. The platform is fast, scalable and fully returns control over its own digital landscape to NHA. The platform can handle large amounts of learning material and peaks in student numbers, and is ready to scale internationally.
