Royal GD and Beyonder Realize Digital Backbone

Royal GD and Beyonder have joined forces to develop an advanced digital infrastructure. This infrastructure is essential for processing the growing data streams within the veterinary sector.

For over a century, GD has collaborated with livestock farmers, veterinarians, and governments. Operating one of the largest veterinary laboratories in the world, the organization processes five million laboratory tests annually. To transform this enormous flow of data into actionable insights, a transformation of the IT landscape was necessary.

Jessica Hirsch-van Stek, Product Manager at GD, emphasizes: "The combination of diagnostics and animal health expertise is what makes GD so unique".

Integrating Smart Automation and AI Applications

To safeguard this data stream, GD partnered with Beyonder to build an intelligent digital 'backbone'. The goal was to replace outdated systems with a platform that not only processes data but also understands it.

Rick Dijkmans, Software Developer at Beyonder, explains technology's supporting role: "By integrating smart automation and AI applications, the platform now ensures that the right specialists and stakeholders are immediately alerted in the event of deviating results, including concrete advice".

Safety and reliability were central during the development process. "We built a platform that is secure by design, because you cannot take any risks with sensitive data," states Beyonder. The result is an event-driven system that reacts automatically to occurrences such as lab results and vaccinations, which can be combined with portals like VeeOnline.

To showcase this innovation, both companies have produced a video. This video highlights the synergy between domain knowledge and digital craftsmanship. This new foundation not only provides faster insights for the farmer but also creates space for future research and innovation throughout the sector.
